See our FAQ for an explanation of the deposit/ dana/ donation tier system. Please do read this is you think that you will not be able to afford the retreat or you are not sure about the deposit/dana/ donation tier system in any way. We have suggested donation amounts to guide you and they relate to what it costs us to run a retreat. However you are free to give as little or as much as befits your circumstances.

Please note that for this retreat, we will offer a chance to pay Dana in advance. This is in response to feedback from some families that it is easier than trying to consider the Dana offering while packing up and getting home. This will be offered in the final details letter that comes out before the retreat and there will still be an oppotunity to offer Dana at the event if you prefer that option.

Please note: **Due to parking restrictions on site - we cannot accept live ins that are more than 6m in length or caravans. If there are no live in passes or car passes available to purchase then we are full. Please do not bring a live in or car without a pass.**

This retreat will be held in beautiful woods near Herstmonceux in East Sussex, camping among the trees and surrounded by the sights, sounds and smells of the season in spring and autumn. Families as well as adults without children are welcome.

There is a focus on little-and-often practice with meditation, talks, discussion groups, rituals and, most importantly, play. We explore how to weave dharma into our practice of being together.

Activities for the children are provided by the land, the imagination and the community as a whole.

This event is fully catered. Please bring your own cutlery, crockery and mugs for everyone in your party. We provide hot water for washing up after meals. There are no showers on this site so please allow for this over the weekend.

Things to note

  • We have an extensive Retreat FAQ page here. Please read this thoroughly and, if you have a question that isn’t answered, get in touch.
  • There is very limited vehicles space at this event. Please add a vehicle pass to your booking so that we can keep track of numbers. Please do not bring a vehicle if the relevant pass is sold out.The site cannot accommodate live-ins that are bigger than approximately 6m.
  • If you can car share, get a lift or public transport, please do. The nearest train station is Pevensey Bay but the service is infrequent and does not run at all on Sundays. It is often better to get a train to Polegate instead and then we will share onward travel information by either bus or pick up closer to the event.
