Women’s Retreat: A Deeper Joy

Dayajoti, Maitridevi & Sukhasiddhi
Both Loving-kindness and Insight involve seeing beyond separation. We will look at the connection between these two aspects of Buddhism, through exploring the myth of Narcissus and Echo, as we practise together in the magical woods of Broadhembury. Including optional yoga and chi kung, fireside storytelling, and plenty of silence and meditation.
The daily programme will include meditation, talks and discussion. We will explore the landscape of the soul through ritual and fairytale. Each day there will be some time for communal work — this along with optional yoga and dance/movement will give us the opportunity to awaken and engage our bodies. There will be plenty of time just to be in nature, and periods of silence to take our experience deeper.
The retreat will be held in the magical landscape of Broadhembury. It’s a secluded site, with mature woodland, its own springwater, and an abundance of wildlife. This site does need a level of fitness that can cope with uphill walks to the shrine area.
- Dayajoti loves meditation and dance/movement as a meditation practice.
- Maitridevi has a love of meditating in nature, and a passion for exploring how to engage the imagination in the practice of Buddhism.
- Sukhasiddhi is interested in how to encourage and create deep letting go and relaxation in the body, opening of the heart and connection within and without. With the help of meditation, bodywork, nature, art, poetry, beauty and love.
Coming on Retreat
The retreat is open to all women, and supported by women from the Buddhafield Team. They will provide us with delicious organic vegan food (plus optional cow’s milk), hot water and relaxing hot tubs.
Every retreat is a community, and as such we will all spend some time each day working collectively to ensure that we are able to live comfortably and sustainably in this magical landscape.
