On this page you can find out about what the Buddhafield Festival Site Décor Team does, what we need you to be able to commit to and how to volunteer.
Who We Are
The Buddhafield Festival Décor Team, at its core, is facilitated by the Buddhafield Arts Collective, a group of practising artists from around the UK who have come together through their creative involvement and practice with the wider Buddhafield community.
Each year the Buddhafield community explores a particular Buddhist theme. The theme that we will be exploring this season is Dance of Life and Death. There is more information on this year's theme through the link on the main menu of the Buddhafield website.
The Buddhafield Arts Collective is supported during the Festival set up by a group of festival Décor Team volunteers. Volunteers support the creative vision of the collective through helping in the making and installing of artworks and decoration for the summer Festival. They will also share in the spiritual and creative practice of the team during set up and take down. Dharma support, daily meditation practice, skill shares and morning circles are all part of this creative process.
Joining the Team
The application deadline for festival Décor Team volunteers is 20th April 2018.
As a festival Décor Team volunteer, you will join the Buddhafield Arts Collective on site to begin work on Wednesday 4th July. After set up finishes on the 17th July the festival will be yours to enjoy. There will be one day of tat down after the festival on Monday 23rd July which you will be required to attend. In exchange for working, Décor Team volunteers will receive a complementary festival ticket and any relevant vehicle passes. If you are coming by bus or train, we can arrange to pick you up from Taunton. You will also receive meal tickets for three vegan / vegetarian meals a day for the duration of your time on site.
The Buddhafield Arts Collective
We are also interested in hearing from you if you are keen to work more closely with the Buddhafield Arts Collective, or are an independent artist who would like to exhibit work at the festival that you feel reflects this years theme.
A Word about Alcohol and Drugs
Please have a think about our view on drink and drugs.
We don’t wish to judge people’s views on this — and hope it won’t put you off applying! And if this would be a new way of experiencing a Festival for you then why not give it a try?! However please bear in mind that if you choose to work with us, then we’d like this policy to be respected.
