Lottery Award
Buddhafield was awarded £10,000 by the Lottery fund in January 2011 to plant and develop a forest garden at Broadhembury. Hurray!!! The project will take place next winter (2011/2012) and volunteers will be very welcome. More details will be on the website as plans develop.

Help Buddhafield fundraise to fully own Frog Mill!
In 2006 Buddhafield bought 17 acres of gorgeous land in Dartmoor National Park called Frog Mill. We hold our big Family Friendly and Summer Open retreats there. It cost £85,000 and with your help, Buddhafield has done very well to pay off over £65,000. There is now only £20,000 to go! It has a salmon spawning river, the Blackaton Brook flowing through it and is home to kingfishers, dippers and a host of other wildlife. Buddhafield has plans to let natural regeneration create more woodland and to clean and tidy up the mill area this winter.
All the folk listed below have pledged to raise money for the Buddhafield Frog Mill land appeal. Are you looking for an excuse to do something you’ve never done before? Could you be one of those people sharing your skills, passions, creativity and talent to help Buddhafield? You can join those below in their heroic tasks by setting up your own JustGiving page.
We are looking for 150 people to take up the challenge and raise £200 each in creative and exciting ways. We would love to fully own Frog Mill as soon as possible. Our goal of £20,000 raised in this way is really achievable- but we need your help. Don’t worry, if £200 feels too daunting, set yourself the task of raising £100. That’s just ten people giving a tenner or 5 people giving £20. If £200 doesn’t feel like a big enough target, feel very free to raise more. If you would like to donate without getting sponsors, please do: go to JustGiving and make a donation.

Suggestions for activities:
Walks, runs, silences, gigs, meditations, hair cutting/shaving, pilgrimages, dances, comedy nights, plays, frog hopping (for kids!), marathons/half marathons, fashion shows, cake sales, jumble sales — anything — as long as it’s ethical!
Let your friends on Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and Bebo know what you’re up to and get them involved too. Email is a great way to communicate about your mission and to get support. If you’re not computer literate, do it the old fashioned way getting sponsors with pencil and paper!
