Joining the Café at an Event
Being at an event usually works in three stages:
- Set-up: where we erect the tent(s), install the fixtures and decorations, do cleaning and training. At some event’s we serve food to the event’s crew.
- Event: where we serve food to ticket holders. There are usually three shifts (Morning, Afternoon and Evening), although we sometimes adjust the pattern to suit the event we’re attending.
- Take-down: where we pack up the Café, usually with our mind on the next event.
We need people to arrive during set-up in time for a health & safety briefing (usually 4pm the day before the event opens to the public). Please stay for the take down if you can! Those of us working a series of events really appreciate the extra help.
