Stewards Form

Stewarding at the Buddhafield Festival

By stewarding at Buddhafield you could make a valuable contribution to an amazing event. You would also get a free ticket, and as part of a team of eighty people, it's a great opportunity to make new friends. Most of our stewards find it very rewarding - and a lot of fun!

What we're looking for

You will need to be:

  • Reasonably physically fit.
  • Emotionally positive, able to look for a solution and not easily thrown by chaos.
  • Patient, articulate and clear, with good spoken English.
  • Reliable and trustworthy, kind and friendly.
  • At least eighteen.

If you have health problems or a disability, we may still be able to employ you, so please ask about this.

The work

Your role would be to help people enjoy the festival and remain safe. Duties may include:

  • welcoming people and processing tickets
  • looking out for people's safety in venues and elsewhere
  • managing traffic and parking vehicles
  • monitoring gates and perimeters
  • occasionally working with other crew around site
  • being generally helpful and friendly!

The work is for up to six and a half hours every day. You can either choose the morning shift every day (7am until 1pm), or else do alternating afternoon/evening shifts. We also need a few volunteers to do nights from 1am to 7am.

We recruit separately for our security team - let us know if you are interested, or if you would prefer to do purely physical work at the festival (such as putting up and taking down structures), please contatct our Site Crew Manager. For work preparing crew food, please apply to the Buddhafield Cafe.

The dates

We would like stewards to arrive on Monday 14 July, and not leave before the evening of Sunday 20 July, but please let us know if either of these dates are difficult and we may be able to work something out. Apart from this, we need a smaller number of stewards to arrive on 10 July and some more on 12 July - to help us with set up. We also need a few stewards to help with tat down by staying for a few extra days at the end.

Recreational drugs

One of the festival's distinctive qualities is that we run a 'no drugs and alcohol' policy throughout the event. Consider this carefully before you agree to work with us. Many people come to our festival particularly because we operate on this understanding and often because they want to be in an environment that supports their efforts to be free of drugs and alcohol. We expect you to help us maintain this atmosphere. We don't judge peoples' choices on this issue, but the festival is offering a definite alternative to that kind of recreational activity.

What you get

Apart from a rather bizarre - but unforgettable - experience, you will get free entry to the festival and all meals provided while you are there.

So now...

If you think you're up for this, then please fill in the form below! Don't worry, there are no trick questions and no "right" answers... we just need to know a little about you before we agree to take you on. And can we emphasize that although stewarding is generally a lot of fun, we would still be asking you to do a job of work which may sometimes be very demanding and very busy, so if you are not prepared for this, then please don't apply!

Questions marked with a star (*) are compulsory, but the more questions you answer the greater your chances of being offered a place. Short answers are best (less than 10-20 words per question), but say a little more if you need to.
