Dana means “generosity” in both Pali and Sanskrit. Buddhafield projects are run largely by volunteers, alongside a small dedicated team that receives minimum financial support.
Buddhafield only exists through the generosity of many people, in whom we continue to depend. Much of our income is acquired by donations and loans from our friends and supporters. We also benefit from the considerable hard work of the many volunteers who help to run our Festival, Café, retreats and land projects.

We are committed to providing affordable retreats for those with genuine need, thus retreatants are free to give more or less than the sums suggested.
However, Buddhafield Retreats depends upon your generosity to help us to continue to do this. The Normal Rate is representative of the cost of putting on the retreat. Please support us in our aim to become fully self-financing by offering the Normal Rate if you can.

As a charity, we are able to claim Gift Aid on your donation (whatever amount you pay beyond your retreat deposit). This is worth an extra 28% of your donation. If you are a UK income tax payer, please tick the box above if you make a donation through the website (above) or download, fill in and post a Gift Aid form to the Buddhafield Office.
Help Buddhafield fundraise to fully own Frog Mill by the end of 2010!
In 2006 Buddhafield bought 17 acres of gorgeous land in Dartmoor National Park called Frog Mill. It cost £85,000 and Buddhafield has done very well to pay off over £50,000 but there is still £35,000 to go. The land is used to hold some of Buddhafield's larger retreats and has a salmon spawning river, the Blackaton Brook flowing through it and is home to kingfishers, dippers and a host of other wildlife.
Dhiramati is planning an all night puja (ritual, chanting and meditation) at this years Buddhafield Festival!
Lokababndhu is running a half marathon!
Heath Dawson has donated a bushcraft course for three people, worth over £500.
Denise Dobson has pledged to raise £200 by the end of the year.
Hannah Phillips has pledged to raise £200 by the end of the year.
They are doing this to raise money for the Buddhafield Frog Mill land appeal. See Dhiramati and Lokabandhu's pages on the Just Giving website.
Are you looking for an excuse to do something you’ve never done before?
We are looking for just 150 people to take up the challenge and raise £200 each in creative and exciting ways. We would LOVE to fully own Frog Mill by the end of 2010. Our goal of £35,000 raised in this way is really achievable — but we need your help.
Don’t worry, if £200 feels too daunting, set yourself the task of raising £100. That’s just ten people giving a tenner or 5 people giving £20. If £200 doesn’t feel like a big enough target, feel very free to raise more.
Could you be one of those people sharing your skills, passions, creativity and talent to help Buddhafield?
You can join Dhiramati and Lokabandhu in their heroic tasks by setting up your own JustGiving page.
Suggestions for activities you could do: walks, runs, silences, gigs, meditations, hair cutting/shaving!, pilgrimages, dances, comedy nights, plays, frog hopping (for kids!), marathons/ half marathons, fashion shows, cake sales, jumble sales — anything! — as long as it’s ethical!
Let your friends on Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and Bebo know what you’re up to and get them involved too. Email is a great way to communicate about your mission and to get support.
